By Luis M. Mendez Beautifully spoiled creatures Companions in moments of solitude I try to learn from their silent lessons. Cats can be very enjoyable creatures Creatures of silence, egotistical, at time selfish, most of the time cuddly lovable cats, There is no "heel!" or "stay!" in their vocabulary In silence that's transcendental and pivotal in every moment of their lives, they will let you know what is agreeable to them! Whatever I am I become whatever They want! My life, not perfection...Silence Uncommon and uncanny my cats deliver more than what I give them! Exercise for us is a drug for my cats, exercise is a quiet, lazy Summer afternoon or winter or morning... How much they can teach with their... SILENCE! _____________________________ (c) Luis M. Méndes Hoboken NJ III MMVI These two poems have "silence" as a central theme, the one we follow because of the dictates of our condition and the other we learn from those beautiful creatures called "cats". To my beautiful Lola and Flora, for their company, love and...silence!
