Our God is Indeed Awesome

By Sarkis A Slyman

For the Lord your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God. Deuteronomy 7:21b

Lord I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O Lord. Habakkuk 3-2a

Out of the North he comes in golden splendor; God comes in awesome majesty. The almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress. Job 37:22-23

The above three passages of Scripture all refer to how awesome our God is. But if you look a little closer you probably see something else that’s awesome also. These are three different authors at drastically different times of history. And if you are familiar with the Bible at all, you know that God is talked about since the beginning of man's existence, spanning both the Old and New Testaments. God time and time again has been looked upon with awe and for good reason. God is in awe and is still filled with awe.

How can anyone deny God’s existence? How can so many people from different backgrounds, countries, periods of time, from great and simple statuses all acknowledge the power and existence of the creator of everything?

It is far easier for me to believe that one awesome God created everything than to believe that everything came from evolution and by chance.

Is God awesome? Do you know of any man or even nation that could even begin to create our world alone not to mention our entire universe? And to those who say it’s impossible for God to have always existed I simply ask one question. Where did even the most basic of elements come from that started the so-called process of evolution?
