It's Up to You to Set the Record Straight
Dear Julie Turner,
George W. Bush pledged to create "new freedom" in the lives of
Americans with disabilities. Instead, he has:
-
Gutted the enforcement of the Americans With Disabilities Act.
-
Nominated judges who oppose the civil rights of people with
disabilities.
-
Failed to adequately fund special education.
-
Left children with disabilities behind in his "No Child Left Behind
Act."
-
Proposed legislation that would destroy Medicaid.
-
Signed a Medicare prescription drug bill that will not meet the
needs of people with disabilities.
-
Underfunded domestic programs that facilitate the employment of
people with disabilities.
-
Refused to address the escalating costs of health care for all
Americans.
Hold President Bush accountable for his misleading rhetoric. Tell
us your story about how you, your family, or others you know have felt
the sting of these Bush policies.
Click
here to tell us your story and we'll publish a compilation of the best
ones on the web in a special report on what George W. Bush's reckless
policies have really done to Americans with disabilities.
We'll publish the stories anonymously and share them with
Democratic leaders in Congress, the public and the press to set the
record straight.
Send your
story now!
And be
sure to click here to tell your friends to tell their stories!
Sincerely,
Becky Ogle
