By Candace Desrosiers (MommyBear) When most people think of love, they think of the drippy, sappy, romance thing; kissing, hugging, and---well, you get the idea. What the majority of the population never takes into consideration is that there are so many kinds of love that don’t even include any of the afore-mentioned activities. "Where is the Love?" you ask. Open your eyes. It’s all around you. When the dog refuses to leave your side because he senses you are having a rotten day; sticking to you like black fuzz on a white sweater and whimpering a little every time you move. That’s love. When your child decides to stay home and watch TV with you rather than go play with his friends "just because you looked a little lonely", that’s love. When, even though the sofa right behind him is calling his name loudly, your husband takes his dirty clothes to the hamper instead of dropping each item like a trail of bread crumbs from the front door to the bedroom. That’s love. When the kid at the shopping mall holds the door open for you to get through while his friends race on ahead of him, oblivious to everything but themselves as they race to the arcade, or that driver lets you have the parking space at the grocery store while they circle the lot one more time…that’s love. When the men in your life remember to put the toilet seat down because it annoys you if they don’t...that’s love. When you screw the cap back on the toothpaste without nagging him about it; after he leaves it off for the hundredth time; that’s love. When you play one more game of checkers with the kids but you really need a nap…that’s love. Finally, as you sit across the room and smile that knowing smile to each other that speaks volumes without uttering a sound…that is love.
