In my own words…the Postcards!

by: MJ Fles

October…ah what a treat it has been!!!

I feel that I know a few people from ‘talking’ on-line which is simply typing OR sometimes through a voice recognition program. I’m jealous! Either way I think a sense of the person is there!

Other than on Halloween dressing up to go trick or treating, ignoring the door bell from kids wanting candy that [I think was bought for me!] reliving the trip to my birthplace through pictures and reminiscing of recent times meeting new faces that was FANTASTIC!

I’ll begin with the trip to the airport and getting to the plane [thank goodness] was a no brainer. Having the plane take off was slightly delayed but it had NOTHING to do with me. Once up in the air looking out the window all I could see the entire time was a cloud. I’ve never really thought about what a cloud looks like inside, but now I know.

Safely on the ground outside the St. Louis International Airport I saw the cloud that I was in above me and I realized that I forgot to pack my hat!

The ever elusive POSTCARD hunt I met head on with [I thought at the time] plenty of postcard stamps; it began!

Initially meeting new faces with names that I already knew was a WOW! We talked laughed and talked some more. Once when we all went out for dinner we had more laughs as well as when we went out for breakfast, too. [Don’t worry, we really ate more than that, I just won’t bore you with details…you’re welcome!]

In addition to meeting friends I surprisingly spent a good amount of time in my room awake addressing those pesky postcards. The list of addresses that I brought with me was slightly less than the Christmas cards that I usually receive AND send out.

Here’s my ode to the postcard, MJ style.
