Poem

Dear Friends in St Louis

By Sarkis A Slyman

(Strat)

The party's over they’ve all gone home

Some near some far but all so dear

I wish I could travel to visit their homes

But my sidekick PPMS manages to keep me here

But I am not sad I’m here to say

For many close friends came from far away

In planes and cars and in vans too

So many had traveled to good ol St Lou

I’m not the only one living here you see

There’s Mummsy and Brenda and Vickie spelled with an e

And Allison and Sandy and Linda my significant other

My Dad Ralph and our kids Dave and Theresa Stocker

From Illinois there was Betty and Bill and MJ

And from Indiana drove Car and Roger on the highways

This may sound like a lot to be here in October

But wait I’m not done from far away came many others

There was also Judy H from Northwest Washington

And Julie from Idaho and Carol from Pennsylvania

And let’s not forget Dave and Deanna from South Dakota

And from the south came Vicki, Donna and Fay

Some could not rejoin us I’m sorry to say

For one reason or another they had to stay away

But whether I saw them this time or whether from another

I’ll hold them all dear forever and ever
