Memories

By Car (Carolyn Reynolds)

It's been quite a summer, with more left  yet to come.  But topping the get together in St. Louis in June would be near impossible.  Whenever folks with MS gather, it's always a roll of the dice for a number of reasons, all courtesy of our dear companion, the MonSter.

But he stayed fairly well tamed this year in spite of the hot and humid conditions we found ourselves in day to day, and we all sure do know about those! Cher had a round one on one with MonSter and came out the victor.  We applaud you, Cher, and Andy, too!

A number of the people who gathered have written about the experience. You'll find those grouped on the Theme page. The month's theme is Friendship, and after all, that's what the get together was all about. I do hope you take the time to read all of them. I believe they will give you the best overview of this fun reunion of friends.  Don't neglect the other friendship pieces, either.  Some real  power is in them.

Something else has also made this summer extra special, and that's the good quality of work that has found its way to us for MuSings. Month to month it amazes me how many good writers I keep finding!  If anyone would call any of these folks "disabled" I'd  have to challenge that. What comes in here is anything but that. It makes me feel down deep in my heart that MS has somehow given these people a little something extra. Or maybe they just had the extra to begin with and are just now discovering it. Either way, I must again say THANKS to each of you.

For each of you, please hold on as tightly as you can to those friendships you make with other MSers. They are so special, believe me.  Those bursts of creativity are important, too. Nurture them and watch them grow, create what you want to, see your words alive on the pages of the magazine, and always know that what you say is touching someone who needs to hear just what you are saying. It's a service you're doing, never lose touch with that. You are helping someone else as you are helping yourselves.  Always know that you are touching me each month with everything you do for the magazine. God bless each one of you, my friends.
