What Are You Made Of?

By Car

What has changed since you began battling chronic illness? Oh come on, we know much has changed for all of us, but what about what really makes up the real you? What are you made of?

I'd like to think I'm still that tough broad that brought me through so many of life's trials, but I have to be realistic and know all thing are not the same for me now. But what really makes up the Car I have become? I think that might be an interesting walk to take right now at this point in my life. Just what am I made of?

I remember stories told of my grandmother when she had to go in to the dentist and have all her teeth extracted. The story goes the dentist patted her on the shoulder and told her, "You're one tough old bird." Knowing my grandma, it's a wonder the dentist made it out with all his teeth still intact.

But when I really think about it, just maybe being a tough old bird isn't all bad. I guess I'll try and scratch under the surface and just see how tough I really am in this month's theme. I hope many of you will share your own feelings, too. Come on now, I have to know just how tough and determined you all are to make it through this life with all the positives you really do possess!
