What a Month. . . .

By Car (Carolyn Reynolds)

Little did I know when I set the topic for our October issue what kind of a month September was going to be!  What frightens us? Well, first Hurricane Katrina, which was bad enough, but then the loss of MJ.  Boy, that was a fright for sure, so unexpected and so hard to understand. Understand this? No, I don't guess I ever will.  Then while still reeling from this loss, along comes yet another hurricane.  I think all of our Texas writers are ok, but it was a fright.

We have had more than our share. We pay tribute to our lost writer MJ on a special page this month. You can see it in Real Life Stories, or by clicking here: A Story a Little Too Real.  Please do check out the other articles in Real Life this month, also. You are going to find all kinds of uplifting stories of life in spite of MS, along with some good sources for help.

Speaking of help, FYI is full of great places to look for information or find help. It's always a great source for you. Please use it, and send in any information you may find that could help someone else.

Our newest magazine section, Tips and Tricks, is another good source for information on ways to make life a little easier. Thanks to all of you who sent in this month, and lets keep this going for future issues, too.  It was a good idea from ShellyTX, and looks like others are thinking it's worth keeping.

Our Poetry is outstanding this month. Some of our poets have also written tributes to MJ in poetry, so do read it all this month.  It is such a fine collection, we should all be proud.  Short Stories in Fiction are a wonderful way to get lost for a bit, take your mind away for a little while. Do it for yourselves this month, please.

Don't forget Theme this month. This collection of articles just might surprise you. And then of course our regulars are there in Features, and what a lot there is to inspire you, delight you, make you think or maybe smile.

Our Related Links have grown with a couple new and extremely good ones this month. Be sure to check them out. You may want to see all the Awards the magazine has gotten. And to know where we're going in Theme, a click on Ahead to November will answer that question for you. You can meet most of us in this issue in our Gallery where you will find most of our pictures, and short biographies, too. Archives have a couple years of our past issues, so if you'd like to read more of MS MuSings, this should keep your satisfied for a while. As always, please let a writer know when something touches you by dropping at email to the address following the article, or you can comment in our Guestbook anytime you'd like.

If you're looking for a caring message board community to become a part of, please check out World of MS MuSings, the outgrowth community that started because of this magazine. Our thanks to Pincushion for doing such a great job keeping it going!

We have had a busy month, and many of us have survived it by turning to our writing. If you haven't yet found this out for yourselves, why not give it a try sometime when something in your life is upsetting, or fun, or makes you think?  Writing is a wonderful way to express yourself and maybe help someone else who is reading your thoughts. Give it a try!

Click on banner below to vote for this magazine.  You can once a day, as often as you like. Why not vote after you read something that touches you or makes you smile?
