By Sarkis A. Slyman Peace
Food For Thought
There are many things in life that can make a person happy
but I believe that the biggest thing is peace. Peace of every kind. When a
person is at peace there is no stress to overcome. There is no unhappiness.
All misery has been removed. In other words, there are no worries to deal
with.
Being at peace especially with the Lord means there’s
nothing to have to overcome. Even the remotest hint of trouble we know will be
overcome by Christ’s. There is no feeling that is better. It is the greatest
way to live your life. Do you believe? Do you honestly believe? Every time our
family is faced with a financial problem I tell my wife that God will overcome
it and not to worry. And you know what? It always comes true. We have never
gained riches but we have never gone under either. God always has made
something happen to help us over a current situation. I place my complete
faith in that.
Another thing I always do is say the 23rd Psalm before I go
to sleep. I especially love the part that says” my cup runneth over”. I cannot
even begin to count the number of times God has intervened on my behalf and I
only tried to count the number of times I should have died. I suggest you try
to do that sometime. I mean, really think about it. Just one example, when I
was about four years old I rode my three wheel tricycle down 14 concrete
steps. I will not even begin to try and explain why because it was stupid,
plain and simple. All I remember is the big tire in front going down that
first step and then me and tricycle went down 13 more. I was taken to the
hospital and fortunately nothing was broken but I was really banged up.
For over two weeks all I could eat was Campbell’s chicken
with rice soup and through a large straw. My face was that swollen up. I can
still remember that day as if it just happened. It will be forever inbedded in
my mind. The
tricycle was totaled out; there was no saving it; it was a
mangled mess. God was surely with me and that is only one of many many
instances. If God is with me during these really hard times why should I
believe that he would not be with me in the really mild events?
Mission Statement
To help anyone reading this to better understand God and his
importance in
our lives whether we are in perfect condition both
physically and mentally
or we are being faced with one or more trials or
experiences.
To Join This Group Or If You Want out
I do my best to send out one of my ponderings every day
Monday through
Friday. Many people belong to this group and automatically
receive my
ponderings daily. Others choose to receive my ponderings by
having them
forwarded every day by others. The choice is up to you but I
myself hope to
have a person join this group so that I am sure they are
receiving my
ponderings daily.
Likewise, there are rare occasions but they do occur when
someone wants to
be removed from this group.
Either way, all a person has to do is send me an e-mail at
the following
address --
--s.slyman@sbcglobal.net and I will honor all requests
immediately.
Unless otherwise mentioned, all of the holy Scripture used
in my ponderings
come from the NIV version of the Holy Bible. Please note the

I will be doing one of these every Sunday. If you would like
to receive
these messages or even to take yourself off of my list
please send me an
