OLIVER DOES IT AGAIN!
Roger Oliver, showing off his creativity, came up with a 4th of July parade entry in this year’s City of Edmonds 4th of July parade that was by far the best one yet and because of his efforts, the entry was awarded ‘’The Most Patriotic Award Trophy.”
This makes the second time that the Donor Closet Drill team has won that award. All in all, The Donor Closet Scooter Drill team has been warded 4 trophies in the six parades that they have participated in.
The DC Scooter Drill Team was led by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce Banner Awards Bearers fallowed by the 2 MSHH DC Banner Bearers, the float, pulled behind the Donor Closet large Sprinter Van decorated with American flags, that displayed a small gorilla sitting on a scooter pulling a large gorilla also sitting on a scooter. Roger Oliver with his musical scooter led the scooter contingency consisting of the MSHH Turtle Mascot, Toby, for a total of 12 decorated scooters that made for quite a showing.
Several thousand spectators lined the streets of Edmonds and cheered the many entries as they passed by. It was a beautiful day capped off with the winning of the trophy.
The Donor Closet wants to thank all the many volunteers who participated. They decorated the van & scooters as well as rode them in the parade. When the parade was over they un-decorated everything and the decorations will be stored until next year.
