Helpful Hints: Death Begins in the Colon

By Sue Ellen Dickinson

"Death begins in the colon"....a statement that's been around for a while, so they say.  And no wonder.  According to 'Death Statistics for the U.S.', each year, more than 50,000 people die from colorectal cancer.

That's a lot of people, and I don't know about you, but that figure alarms me.  And it should, because I know first hand......my Mother died of colon cancer.

Think about it.....diets, particularly here in America today consist largely of pre-packaged foods loaded with an endless variety  of artificial ingredients, preservatives and who knows what else that's been added to the mix, all lurking in mass produced industrialized recipes blended with corporate marketing genius that wind up lining the shelves of our supermarkets.

And I haven't even mentioned the almighty giant   ....... fast food!

Imagine over time what the accumulation of all that foreign pasty, toxic sludge and residue can do when it clings to and clogs up the lining of a persons' colon.   Not a pretty picture.

OK.......I know this isn't the type of  subject people generally talk to about in polite company, but let's face it....it's a fact of life and it really needs to be addressed.....because it's a real problem in today's culture.  And not just because of the possible risk of getting colon cancer, mind you..... it might even open up all kinds of other possibilities that adversely affect the human body in its' ability to defend itself , like contracting other bad conditions and diseases as well.... say, maybe even Multiple Sclerosis.....who knows?

Think about it.

When I did my first colon cleanse, it certainly was unlike any experience I'd ever had before.  And I have to admit, I reluctantly did it because people in the know urged me to, saying that the colon is the place  that absorbs nutrients that are fed to other parts of the body, and it's crucial to have that channel be as clear as possible in order to let nature take its' course....literally....the way it's meant to.

Made sense to me then, and it makes even more sense to me now.

The question I get asked most often on the subject of doing a colon cleanse is..."how long did it take before you saw positive results and started to feel better?"  The answer is that it took time, and lots of it.  For me, after doing the colon cleanse for the first time, along with packing in plenty of vitamins, minerals, digestive enzymes, probiotic and antioxidants, the first indication that there were real signs of improvement appeared after about six weeks.

That was enough encouragement alone to keep going and stay in the fight.

I wish I'd had access to this information a few years before it became available to me.  I'd have shared it with my Mother, and maybe.... maybe she might have applied this knowledge, and it possibly could have made a difference in her life.  She just might still be alive today because of it.

Until next time.

As always,

Sue Ellen
