Child Wise Eyes
She must have been about 4, my *little
cyclone*that moved
so fast she blackened eyes by running
into door ways.
Yet, one morning she was mesmerized by
some child channel on T.V.
then came the advertisement with a
beautiful red headed gal with locks
flowing in a billowing sheen unmatched
by any color hue.
She, of course telling viewers, you
could have same hair affect by
using her particular projected shampoo
brand.
My little one was absolutely enchanted
with the lovely lass, and thus
began the Please! Please! Please!
Mommy, can we get some
of that super shampoo?
Aaaaaaaah, just the memory these
golden clustered days
causes me a fit of laughter....
Shopping day arrived, and she didn't
let me forget for a moment
that *that Special Shampoo, was the
day's priority purchase.
When we returned to home grounds, I
barely had groceries put away
before the child with towel in hand was
before me for my next chore,
saying: Hurry Hurry Mommy, I wanna be
beautiful
like that lady on T.V.
So I washed and dried her little blond
locks, and she ran to the
mirror looking at herself from all
angles...yet `saying nothing, then
moving onto her outside play
activities.
Several days later in the a.m. she
again was watching the kids' channel
when the red headed raven came on....
She stood up, put her little hands on
her hips and said in *Pure Disgust*
Mama those folks on T.V. are darned
liars, shut off the T.V., and said
I`m outta here....headed to
friend's/yard play.
Never Again, did she waste
her time or energy on morning T.V. I believe
that was her first and last
time at ever taking anything at face value.
Waylaid by 3 diseases in teens and
twenties, I have to wonder if that
shampoo visionary the basis of her
foraging forward regardless
of predictions with the I Can
and I Will Attitude.
With the emergence of *The Sunshine
Girl* and *Pillar of Hope*
for the ailing .... and that `which has
led her into the era of loving
and nourishing abandoned animals....
