Poem

By Sherry Kersey

Texas - Ahhh` Sweet Texas

Some say, I`m older than bible's Methuselah
Some say, my value status has reached its end,
Others claim me to be a bit demented
but, I`m here to tell you friends....

Tis not me that writes the constant stories
of day's gloom and doom,
As I prefer to trail with senior Texas Drifters
who embrace the thought that change
is coming soon .... perhaps June.

When the trials of age pain, paint me
the picture, of the nuts that call me old,
I laugh and say: Who Me???
I`m time vintaged, with heat, air,
a comfort home. Plus I`m never alone.

Still I mustn't lie, as I oft have need
of help `to overcome age's drudgeries,
So, I simply close my eyes and recall all
~My Sweet Texas Memories~
